Local Non-Profit Helping Families Affected by Childhood Cancer
Supporters and media were invited to the event on May 5 to learn more about the Carsyn Neille Foundation's mission to transform Rooms to promote healing and thrivorship for families affected by childhood cancer.
SAN DIEGO – May 25, 2017 – UNITE, HEAL + THRIVE took place at a private residence in Rancho Santa Fe on Friday, May 5, from 7 pm to 9 pm. There were specialty cocktails, with heavy hors d'oeuvres, dessert, opportunity drawings and silent auction.
Kia Davis, president of the Carsyn Neille Foundation, shared the vision and plans for work in 2017. Attendees walked away feeling inspired, and with an increased awareness of how CNF serves families affected by childhood cancer. Attendees experienced firsthand the impact of how non-toxic updates to a child’s living space supports the mind, body, and spirit of healing.
Board Advisor Sandra Den Ujil said, “I’m so excited and I knew that Unite, Heal and Thrive was going to be a very special evening. I’m wowed by the strength and resilience that Kia showed after losing Carsyn, but what’s really amazing is that she’s honoring their daughter by finding ways to help other families in similar situations. The mission itself is important and filling an underserved need, but to add the detail of designing these spaces with no toxic materials is creating more awareness on healthy living spaces.”
Food was provided by Chef Lance of Flavor Chef, E.A.T of Temecula, chocolates and desserts provided by Lily’s Sweets, and drinks provided by Suja Juices. The entertainment included music and live artistry by Joshua Randle. There were signature Suja Juice cocktails and a ‘What’s in a Room to HEAL + THRIVE’ interactive stations hosted by CNF's toxic-free partners.
UNITE, HEAL + THRIVE was created to bring together supporters of the foundation and introduce newcomers to its work. The only way to make an IMPACT within the childhood cancer community is for the foundation to grow and get its message out through events such as this.
Thank you to everyone who made it to out!
