Plant People: Roles + Responsibilities

We're broadening our impact and sharing our mission with more families via our Community-Partnered Events at Plant People, a well-aligned and fun opportunity to fulfill our mission. Attendees will learn the benefits of adding plants to their space, the science behind plants that naturally purify our environments, and ways to take care of their plants.

Community-Partnered Events are one of the Carsyn Neille Foundations' many ways of fundraising and are an essential component of our business model. Community-Partnered Events allow our organization to fund its mission, continue developing educational programs, and make improvements that will benefit future families who utilize our services.

THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN

Junior Comfort Creators are the heart and soul of our organization who have a profound sense of compassion for the childhood cancer community. For our Community-Partnered Event Plant People there are many ways to get involved, check out the positions below.

Setup Crew: Can't stay for long? Set up crew is the perfect opportunity to get in and get out while still serving and loving on others. Event setup will include setting up chairs, tables, craft stations and putting signs up throughout the venue.

Greeter: Responsible for ensuring guests are greeted when they enter the store and providing directions or information to customers to ensure they have clear directions and appropriate next steps to help keep the event running smoothly.

Family Liaison:  Has attendee fill out digital guest book. Family liaisons have the skills to develop and foster relationships. Family Liaison will keep track of families and children's names who attended and will coordinate with Media Creative to capture pictures of children hands-on with their crafts. At the end of the event, the family liaison, with the help of activity coordinators and media creative, will track and report attending families' dynamics.

Activity Coordinator:  Responsible for conducting CPE arts and crafts with children 12 and under. The owner of Plant People will briefly show Activity Coordinators how to repot cuttings properly. The activity Coordinator will then greet children as they walk into Plant people, with permission from parent and child, take children on a journey to learn about plants, color, and repot a cutting.

Media Creative: Media Creative should be skilled in capturing photographs for this CPE. The goal of the media creative is to capture the emotions and highlights of Junior Comfort Creators volunteering and doing their part. Photos can be used for the purpose of advertising or personal by the Carsyn Neille Foundation.
